Nihan Uygun Karaman, upon graduation from Eskişehir Cemal Mümtaz Anatolian Teacher Training High School, completed her law degree in İstanbul Okan University as a full scholarship student.
While continuing her legal education, she has worked as a student intern in the legal department of one of the Turkey’s leading construction companies. In addition, with summer internships, she has gained experience in many fields such as commercial law and corporate law, litigation and dispute resolution and criminal law.
Upon graduation from the law school, she has worked in the private law and insurance law departments of one of the Turkey’s highly recognized law firm, mainly focused on corporate law, insurance law and compensation law. In this period, she has represented Turkish and foreign invested insurance companies as their lawyer and advisor.
Nihan Uygun Karaman has specialized in the field of insurance law, with a focus on personal injuries; she has expertise in many areas of the insurance sector from the determination of disablement degrees to the actuarial calculations, and she represents her clients before courts and Insurance Arbitration Commission for indemnity/compensation cases initiated with regards to traffic accidents involving death or personal injuries and also she conducts conciliation processes in settlement and mediation procedures.
